My “Cutting Room Floor” plays are the situations I considered the closest to being worthy of investment but did not make the “final cut” for my official plays today for subscribers. The last play I cut for Wednesday afternoon is with Over the Total in the Europa League championship match between Freiburg and Aston Villa being played on a neutral pitch at Besiktas Park in Istanbul, Turkey. SC Freiburg advanced to the finals with a 3-1 win at home against Sporting Braga on May 7th, which eked out a 4-3 aggregate score victory. The Black Forest have played three matches in a row across all competitions where at least four combined goals were scored. They have scored nine times and conceded seven goals during that span. Aston Villa reached the finals of the Europa League with their 4-0 victory at home against Nottingham Forest on May 7th, which resulted in a 4-1 aggregate score. The Villans have played three straight matches where four or more combined goals were scored. They have scored ten times during that stretch but conceded multiple goals in two of those matches. The Europa League Finals Play is on Aston Villa at 3 eastern over SC Freiburg. We will back the English Power house squad to win. The game should be tight but Villa will be on the attack throughout and likely hold the ball for most of the game. Freiburg is very tough and can likely find the back of the net here as Villa while lethal on the attack can be broken down especially on set pieces. Another nice play here would be for both teams to score. With more depth and a better overall squad we will back Villa to win it. GL Rob V-

My selection is on the 'under' between Vegas and Colorado at 8 pm et on Wednesday.

The Avalanche are coming off an incredibly high-scoring series against the Wild and ride a two-game 'over' streak into Game 1 of the Western Conference Final against the Golden Knights. Of note, Colorado has posted just two 'over' streaks lasting more than two games dating back to January 21st. Meanwhile, Vegas checks in off consecutive 'under' results. It's worth mentioning that 'unders' have come in bunches for the Knights in recent weeks and months as they have reeled off at least three straight 'under' results on four different occasions since February 27th. The last time these two teams matched up on April 11th right here in Denver, they produced just four goals in regulation time in a 3-2 Knights overtime victory. Take the under (8*).
