Utah Valley is coming off a stunning upset win over BYU last time out, marking its seventh straight win since opening the season with a 20-point loss at Boise State. The Wolverines won that game over BYU despite shooting just north of 31% from the field. It was their defense that came up big and I expect it to perform well in this spot as well. Note that Utah Valley has three of its last four opponents to worse than 35% shooting. It is giving up just six made three-pointers per game on 27.4% shooting and sending opponents to the free throw line just 14 times per contest. Southern Utah checks in off four straight wins but is just 3-4 ATS in lined games this season. Note that the Thunderbirds are just 10-23 ATS the last 33 times they've come off two ATS wins in their last three games as they've outscored opponents by an average margin of just 0.7 points in that spot. Utah Valley will be looking to avenge losses to Southern Utah in each of the last two seasons. Last year we saw Southern Utah score 81 points on better than 48% shooting while it also held a significant edge in terms of free throws. The last time these two teams met on this floor, Utah Valley took Southern Utah down to the wire in a one-point loss. I'm anticipating another tightly-contested affair on Wednesday. Take Utah Valley.
